Professor Lal has been reading his translation of the Mahabharata on 3 television channels, 24 times every week since last year -- the Tara News Network, the Tara Muzik Network and TV South Asia. To mark the 50th anniversary of Writers Workshop, India, the network manager decided to bring out in DVD format this reading, along with the text (the final revision Professor Lal made for the TV reading of his transcreation). These 10 DVDs make up around 12 hours of reading of The Adi Parva. They are professionally produced with excellent audio-visual quality, and the accompanying Adi Parva text is also handsomely bound in sari-cloth and gold-embossed by hand. The DVDs and the book are made available in a beautifully designed gift-box by the same binder who does all the Writers Workshop productions.
