_The Homecoming_

Here we are lost,
Here we are lost, In the midst of the blue past And a vague future,
Our present being nothing but dust That leads to the road.

Whispers follow then, they talk of you.
As if you were never there. As if you were
dead.

The night star comes,
The night star comes So close to the eyes’ life that We point
to nothing. No home for us. Glorious darkness! In this long tumult Show the way
to these vainglorious souls.

Whispers follow then, they talk of you.
As if you were never there. As if you were
dead.

Here we are left,
Here we are left, And dreams flash at the back of the mind. Dreams
that were born Of ruinous ambition and perished Under this hushed-up homecoming.

Whispers follow then, they talk of you.
 Are you there? Or dead?
