_**About the Author:**_
Born in 1968, Bijay Mohanty grew up strongly influenced
by the liberal ideas of his father, who was a freedom fighter and who spent many
years in British-Indian jails, never wore anything but khadi and walked barefoot.
He graduated in Mechanical Engineering and worked in a large steel plant before
joining the Indian Audit and Accounts Service in 1995. He is an itinerant civil
servant who now works as Accountant General, Odisha, at Bhubaneswar. His short fiction
and poetry have appeared in many magazines, both electronic and print. He has been
awarded by _Femina_ and _Sulekha_ for his short fiction. An avid reader and traveller,
he has travelled extensively, both within India and abroad. When not working as
a civil servant or writing, he listens to classical music and plays the flute.

_**About the Book:**_
In his first collection of poetry, Bijay Mohanty explores
a remarkably wide canvas of themes, ranging from nature, ecological concerns, national
identity and present-day governance, human rights challenges within the context
of national politics, personal narratives and relationships, religion and spirituality
and time itself. Haunting and evocative, his poems will resonate within you much
after you finish reading them.
