_**About the Author**_
_The Future I Recall_ is Chetan Tripathy’s second collection
of poems. His first – _Dreams in My Eyes_ — was published in 2005 and subsequently
translated into Kannanda by Professor Dayananda. Chetan was born in Hassan, Karnataka
on 5 May 1988 and spent his childhood in Delhi, Ottawa, Bhubanseswar and Bangalore.
His interest in poetry began at the age of 4, during a two-year stay in Ottawa,
Canada, inspired by the poems of his father, sister, and the presence of a second-
hand 386 Mz computer in his home. Time has always been a major theme in his poems.

_ Strangers _

Stranger we were,
 In a world uncalmed.

Haunted by crimes,
 That other men made.

And we stared at the clouds,
 Those never met.

How strange to be strangers,
In a world that is the same…
