_**About the Author**_
 R. C. Shukla, Head of the Department of English, K.G.K.
College at Moradabad, is a well known bilingual poet from Northern India. He has
published poems in English in several India-based literary journals including Delhi’s
_Indian Literature_. R. C. Shukla appeared very late on the horizon of Indo-Anglian
literature when his first collection of poems entitled _A Belated Appearance_ was
published in 2000, but the swift publication of his next three collections denotes
that he is in a hurry to make up for the delay.

_O Woman! I Bow Before You _

O Woman! I bow before you.
Colder than snow Hotter than Fire Your silence More
vocal than the tongue And patience More clamorous than a shriek O woman! I bow before
you.

Your secrets
More mysterious than the priest And announcements Braver than the
wind O woman! I bow before you.
