_**About the Author**_
 Annie George is a poet, translator, amateur artist and has
a passion for dancing. She spent her early years in West Bengal and completed her
higher education in Kerala where she continues to live, working as an Assistant 
Section Officer at the M.G. University, Kottayam. Her first volume of poems, _Gladioli
and Other Poems_, was published by Kairali Books, Kannur (2006), she has edited_
Roots and Wings: An Anthology of Indian Women Writing in English_ (a book that chronicles
the works of 42 poets), she has translated the Sahitya Akademi Award winner P Surendran’s
Malayalam short stories, _Border_ (published by H&C Books), and was involved in 
the publication of _New Voices_, a collection of poems and poetics by five millennium
poets who write in English (2009).
