_Night_

Night whisks away the stars
like a police van frisking people away on curfew nights
and there is no moon darkness combs its daughter’s hair evenly from edge to edge
whistling a mourner’s tune the wings of the fan overhead flipping flap as if choked
and there is no wind over the floor     flip-flops burn in the iridescence of heat
but there is some solace beneath the dying slow fan besides where else do I go?

_**Contents**_

63 poems
