_**About the Author**_
 Satish Kumar Sharma was born in Rajasthan in 1959. A post-
graduate in commerce and graduate in law, he was an officer in the State Bank of
India three years before joining the Indian Police Service in 1986. He served in
the Gujarat cadre, rose to the rank of Director General, and retired in 2019. A 
freelance writer under the name Satish K. Sharma since 2005, he has published over
400 articles on diverse subjects like humour, spirituality, recollections from life
and professional policing in leading English newspapers of India. He writes a weekly
column for the _Ahmedabad Mirror _and is a regular contributor to _The Tribune_.

He has been writing poetry since 2001. He composes poetry in Hindi also, and has
published an anthology titled _Dusari Subah ki Or_. This is his first book in English.
He lives in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
